For the last five years, Emily has produced live performance, workshops, and interdisciplinary arts
programming across institutional, experimental, and festival contexts. Her work bridges creative vision
with production execution, with a focus on building clear structures that support artists, audiences, and
collaborators.

She is the founder, programmer, and producer of First Draft, a mobile ongoing works-in-progress series, taking place at Pieter Performance Space, Human Resources Gallery, and Institute for Contemporary Arts Los Angeles. Emily oversees all aspects of production—from artist coordination and scheduling to run-of-show development and on-site execution. Working closely with performers at various stages of development, she builds flexible yet rigorous production frameworks that support process-driven work while maintaining clarity across teams.

Her producing practice extends to institutional partnerships, including FIRST DRAFT x ICA LA (2026), where she collaborated with the Lead Curator to program and produce an evening of performance in dialogue with current exhibitions. In this role, she served as the primary liaison between artists and ICA LA’s curatorial, programming, and operations teams, coordinating logistics, timelines, and communication across departments while also moderating a public-facing artist panel.

Barasch has also worked within large-scale museum production contexts as research assistant and dramaturge for Will Rawls’ project UNMADE, commissioned for Made in L.A. at the Hammer Museum. There, she supported the development of the work while interfacing with museum staff and production structures, gaining experience navigating the coordination of performance within a major exhibition framework. Additional production experience includes serving as poducer for TOGETHERFIRE for homeLA and The Lab Festival for Industry Opera, where she managed artist needs, site logistics, and event execution.
